About Dr. Brian A. Levitt
Since 1987, Dr. Levitt has provided Atlanta area women with individualized care in routine and high-risk obstetrics; gynecology; infertility; robotic, laser and endoscopic surgery; birth control; the newest techniques for managing heavy perimenopausal menstrual periods; and hormonal therapies. He delivers babies and performs surgeries at DeKalb Medical and Eastside Medical Center depending on patient insurance plan and patient choice.

In 2002, he was the first private practice physician to offer Essure to patients following its FDA approval. This is permanent, non-surgical outpatient birth control provided in the office or hospital. It is a low-risk, effective alternative to surgical tubal ligation.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Levitt earned his M.D. degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit in 1983. His major focus during medical training was clinical – taking care of patients. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Honors College at Michigan State University.
While in residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, he did post-graduate work in high-risk obstetrics, gynecologic endocrinology and immunology, laparoscopy, micro-surgery and estrogen therapy.
